90% of people use car chargers incorrectly. Have you got it right, car owners?
Working principle of car charger
Principle: Convert the 12V voltage of the car cigarette lighter socket into 5V USB voltage and charge the electronic product through a charging cable. Generally speaking, a car charger converts 12V (12V for cars, 24V for trucks) DC power into 5-20V DC power for charging mobile devices in the car. Its characteristics are low power consumption, simple and convenient, and cheap price.
1. Precautions for use
① Do not insert the car charger before starting the car to prevent voltage damage to the charger during startup.
② Car owners should never use strong chemicals, cleaning agents, or strong detergents to clean the charger when using it. Because this will seriously damage the functionality of the car charger.
③ Special attention should be paid to not throwing, landing, knocking or vibrating the car charger during use. In addition, do not use the charger when the vehicle is stationary for a long time in summer and the temperature inside the car exceeds 45 ℃, as this will seriously damage the internal circuit board of the car charger.
④ As one of the electronic products, car chargers should be used by car owners to avoid accidental water ingress or prolonged exposure to humid air, which can cause varying degrees of corrosion or oxidation to the internal electronic components.
⑤ After turning off the vehicle, the car charger should be unplugged and placed. Although 80% of vehicles have their cigarette lighters powered off after removing the key, there are also some cars whose cigarette lighters are continuously powered on.
2. Purchase precautions
Choose products with overload protection function
The USB specification requires that the current overload protection should not exceed 5A. The reason why car chargers need overload protection is that when the output current exceeds their normal output value, the lifespan of the charger components will be shortened or damaged or even burned due to high temperature. So the car charger used in the car must have overload protection measures.
Choose products with an output current of 1A or higher
The input voltage of car chargers on the market is generally 12V-24V, the output voltage is 5V, and the output current is around 1A~4A. However, some "three no" or "counterfeit" products commonly exhibit the phenomenon of false charging current labeling.
If the phone is charging while providing navigation function, a poor quality charger will not only fail to provide normal charging but also continuously decrease the battery level.
